Well, this is heartbreaking.
We all know Jennifer Lopez is one the most successful women in Hollywood, but we didn’t realize it’s taken a strain on her duty as a mother to her two kids.
During a recent interview on The Real, the 47-year-old star shared a sad story about how her son, Max, 9, had to schedule in quality time with her recently.
“You know, they’re always first. When you put them first, then everybody else understands the hierarchy,” JLo said of her little boy and his twin sister, Emme.
“My son said to me this week, he goes, ‘Mom, I’d like to schedule… a picnic with you this week cause I know you’ve been, you know, working hard,” she revealed. “He was with me in New York, but still, he was like ‘Um I’d like to schedule a picnic for next Friday because we need more quality time.’ And I was like, ‘Okay baby.'”
Jennifer and her ex-husband Marc Anthony — the two were married from 2004 until 2014 — previously welcomed Max and Emme in February 2008.
In a July 2016 interview, the Shades of Blue star got candid about the challenges of raising two kids while being a working mom in Hollywood. “We don’t have a normal life, I don’t have normal kids,” she said at the time. “I’m not normal. So our life is not normal. I’ve come to terms with that.”
“Everybody’s like, ‘You should have them in school, they need friends.’ It drives me… it can drive you crazy,” Jen continued.
“They are super happy, well-adjusted, loving, caring kids, and that’s the most important thing,” she added. “We’ll get them educated — homeschool is great for them, when we have to do it. The most important thing is that they’re with their mom — that they don’t feel abandoned by a parent.”
