The cast of MTV’s hit show Jersey Shore have reunited many times throughout the years, but alum Vinny Guadagnino was notably absent from one epic get-together: former co-star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s wedding to Jionni LaValle.
The duo wed back in 2014, two years after the final episode of the reality show aired, and nearly the whole cast, excluding Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, was in attendance. Now, Vinny is revealing exclusively to Life & Style why he thinks he didn’t make the cut.
“I think [I wasn’t invited] because we hooked up to some capacity in the past,” the 29-year-old tells Life & Style. “Maybe it wouldn’t have been the best for me to [go].”
Though he admitted it was the awkwardness that kept him away, he did say it was Snooki’s decision and not her beau’s.
“No I don’t think it was [Jionni] or whatever because he was cool with me on the show and he knew about it,” he says. “I think it was just because of me doing comedy and going on podcast and going up on stage. I would tell stories about hooking up with her. This is my life and I’m going to tell it. That’s what people want to know.”
And while the Vinny and Ma Eat America star says he’s candid about his hookup with his co-star, he affirms it’s strictly for comedy.
“I never get disrespectful,” he says. “I just literally say things that people saw in a comedic way and I don’t think she was going for that and I understand that completely. I’ll take my Nicole loss for the sake of my comedic content and stuff like that.”
Though spilling details of their fling on-stage might seem like it could cause tension in a friendship, Vinny swears he and his former house-mate are friendly today.
“We are cool though,” he says. “She says hello to me and I say hello to her.”
